In Tears Again February 9, 2005

It’s not that uncommon around here these days to find me in tears. Yesterday was definitely a doozy. Hell, I even had tears streaming down my face when Aaron proposed to Hayden on the Amazing Race. It doesn’t take much given my current hormonal state.

I was going through our mail that was delivered today, and after I had gotten through all of the junk mail I found a card from my husband’s paternal grandparents. They’re really good about sending cards for the various holidays, so I was pretty sure it was a Valentine’s Day card. Sure enough, it was, but what was inside brought me to tears instantly. One paragraph of what my husband’s grandma had written inside the card read:

Grandpa & I know how tremendously expensive all the procedures you’re going through are and have talked about helping a little. We know this can’t begin to cover your expenses but hope it helps a little.

She went on to say that we were in their thoughts and prayers. Inside the card was a check for $1,000.

I am at a loss about how to express how much that means to me. Both of our families know what we’re going through and know how much we’ve spent. Until today, no one had even offered to help out. This generosity blows me away. It feels amazing to have that kind of support. I hope I’ll be able to find the words to express my sincere gratitude.

Oh how sweet!! How luck you are to have family that understand, care so much, and are able to do something like this {{}}

Oh my God Amanda that is wonderful. Can you say, Saints????

PS - I too cried at Aaron and Hayden, and I didn’t even like them! It must be the birth control pills.

Count me in too… snotting up during the proposal.

What a wonderful gift from your husbands grandparents.
They sure do know how to perk a girl up!! (and make her cry at the same time)

I was telling my doctor about how hard transfer is for you.. she wasn’t suprised at all. She said they have to sedate people often. I felt bad… having such a “easy” cervix when you have to go thru so much.

That is THE sweetest thing I’ve heard in a long time. What a blessing to have people like that in your life, mixed in among all the asshats!

Btw, I almost cried over the Amazing Race, too, but only because I was horrified that a psycho like Hayden had snagged a guy like Aaron.

Oh my gosh! That is so incredibly sweet! Isn’t it great when wonderful things happen out of the blue? You are lucky to have such great support and your husband’s grandparents are lucky to have such together offspring as you two.

That is so sweet. My grandmothers (both of whom are alive) would NEVER do anything like that. What sweeties they are!

Good luck, by the way–am checking in on you like a freak.
