Can I Just Take the Good News? July 13, 2005

My monitoring appointment this morning brought both good and bad news. Isn’t that always the case? After 4 days of stims, I’ve got 14 follicles cooking in there. That’s pretty good for me. Last cycle I only had 9 at my first ultrasound appointment. The largest one measured 9.8, but there are a bunch of small ones in there as well.

The sucky news from today is that my lining measured a teeny tiny 1.2mm. Yep, it has shrunk since baseline. Not good. It’s no real surprise, though. I’ve been bleeding since I started stims. Add the the low E2 situation to the mix, and my lining didn’t stand a chance today.

My E2 was up to 117 this morning. I was told that was a good rise from 40. Hopefully it will continue to go up, up, up, and my lining will follow suite. I’ve stopped spotting now, too, so that can only help things out.

I’m trying really hard not to go into freak out mode. I think I’m doing ok. One of my goals this cycle was to not play RE. I honestly trust my new clinic, something I couldn’t say about my previous one, and I’m trying to just do what my RE tells me to do.

So, I’m on 225 Gonal-F and 150 Repronex today and then I’ll flip flop again to 150 Gonal-F and 225 Repronex tomorrow. My next encounter with the dildocam and vampire is Friday morning.

I hope that lining plumps up and that all those follicles continue doing well. I’d say leave the worrying up to the RE, but I know how hard that is.

That’s a great number of follicles! When I was being monitored they only saw 12, but retrieved 16… so starting with 14 is GREAT! I’m sure your lining will get with the program soon enough. Good luck!

The number of follicles sounds great, and that is definitely good news. I think trusting the RE is a good idea. Good luck with your lining, I feel like it will thicken now that you aren’t bleeding. My fingers are crossed for you.

Yea for the good news!

As for the bad - I will be thinking thick lining thoughts!

That is awesome about your follicles and your estrogen.

Look, the main thing is that you get plenty of nice eggs and your usual gorgeous embryos…… and if you continue to bleed and have a thin lining, then you’ll do FET - you will STILL be okay.

Go follicles and E2!!!

I know it is so hard not to worry, but you are doing great.

Hang in there!

Great follicles! Naughty lining. It has to get with it. However those 14 are just GREAT!!

I will keep my fingers crossed for your lining, but your follicles sounds like they are in business. If worse comes to worst comes to worst, they do the retrieval and a FET later.

Good luck!

Go the lining! And hope there’s lots of good news to follow.

9. Suz - July 14, 2005

Good luck! Go lining!!!!

And congratulations on the lovely number of follicles.

Good follicles and your E2 is going up…sounds good. The lining thing sucks but what would an IVF cycle be without something to freak out about? I’m sure it will rise now that the bleeding has stopped. Wishing you continued good luck.
