I Couldn’t Do It February 5, 2006

I’ve got some HPTs just waiting for me to break them out of their shiny new boxes. When I bought them I thought I might test this morning. I’m 7dp5dt today, so they’d be pretty reliable at this point. I just can’t do it, though.

I just want one more day before the world falls in on me for the sixth time. I’m pretty sure I know what’s coming, and I just don’t want to see it yet.

I do have to know before the phone call, though. I have to. No matter how scared I am of getting bad news from FRED, the thought of waiting to find out through that damn phone call is terrifying. I need the heads up before then. Since beta is on Tuesday, it looks like tomorrow morning is it. I’ll be peeing on sticks in less than 24 hours whether I really want to or not.

On a lighter note, thanks for the compliments on my new look. I really like it. I got inspired after seeing the changes over at Inconceivable. Many, many thanks to my husband for helping me with the technical stuff. I was just so not in the mood to deal with all of that FTPing crap. Fiddling with a WordPress theme is not the easiest thing to do. It was a good distraction to work on switching things over yesterday. And we all know that distractions during the 2ww are a very good thing.

Oh I know, i couldn’t bear to pee on a stick on my cycle, either. Then I started bleeding so it was all a bit academic. I hope that tomorrow morning brings you surprising and wonderful news.

I really like your look - clean lines and a good amount of white space; very readable. I don’t blame you on holding out on the pee sticks.

I’m wishing and praying so hard for you, Amanda.

Best wishes and the best of luck to you.

Katie

Totally cute look. As for POAS, I get it. In the mean time, distract well.

Site looks great. I like it!

I hadn’t realized your beta was so soon as Tues. I guess your clinic isn’t one of the annoying ones (like mine) that makes you wait 14 dp5dt. I’ve never made it past 4 days before hpting…and I’ve only ever made it that long because I made sure I didn’t have any in the house. There is something to be said for waiting a little longer than that but I totally understand not wanting to find out via the phone call. I honestly don’t know how people can deal with finding out that way.

Site looks great, Amanda! Thinking of you–will cross my legs as well as fingers. (smile) I hope your instincts are wrong on this one, I really do.

I can see the reasoning behind trying to outsmart the phonecall. Ugh. So nervewracking. I hope you outsmart it with good news.

Love your new look!

Totally get the testing before the phone call thing. It’s like somehow it lets you absorb a little of the shock (no matter which way it goes) before having to react to another person, even if it is the nurse. Good on ya for waiting as late as possible, though.
Will be refreshing constantly, and hoping for you like crazy.
And looooove the new look, I wish I knew how to do stuff like that.

The blog looks great! I will be thinking of you tomorrow. And hoping for fabulous news…

12. Suz - February 5, 2006

I love the new look and find the black on white much easier to read (my eyes aren’t the best!) I’m hoping and hoping for you!

13. Kyla - February 5, 2006

Good luck for the pee test…will keep my fingers crossed. Love the new look. It’s an omen of good things to come!

My fingers are very crossed for you. Good luck!

Great new look! I am hoping for the best for you on beta day. I know you don’t need me to tell you this, but no one EVER believes their cycle worked, especially as the end of the waiting period approaches. Hang in there.

I like the new site design, Amanda.

I’m going to check in before leaving for work tomorrow morning. I’m so hoping you’re intuition is wrong on this one.

The new look is great. I’m glad it was a good distraction for you. So hoping you get the result you want tomorrow.

Beta preparation is good, but of course you know to beware of reading too much into the sticks. Nico (noperiodbaby) and I are calling for a boycott of FRERs, after both of us got relatively late false negatives.

Hoping for the best for you!

21. Portlairge - February 6, 2006

Love the new look. Everythings crossed for HPT tomorrow. The very best of luck to you.

22. sue - February 6, 2006

Had to chime in on the FRERs. I got a false negative with them too this IVF cycle. Starting peeing on two brands of sticks at once as an experiment and discovered that not only am I pregnant but that FRER was VERY slow to show a (very faint) line while the other brands would come up right away with dark solid lines.

So, yeah. If you’re peeing on a FRER right now and it comes up negative be sure to test with something else tomorrow. (Fact Plus worked well for me.)

Oops! Pushed the button before I had a chance to say…good luck!!!
