We Made It August 16, 2006
Oh, I’m so glad we’re done with that. The movers came Monday morning, and after some apartment cleaning we hit the road and headed to Houston Monday afternoon. I think the hardest part of any move for me is disrupting my kitties, but they fared the trip well.
The movers dropped off our stuff yesterday afternoon, and we’ve been busy unpacking ever since. We have our cable and phone working now, but alas no internet. As you can see that hasn’t stopped me from getting online, though. Hopefully it will be working soon, so we can stop “borrowing” our neighbors wireless.
It’s definitely been strange moving from our tiny apartment to this house. It’s very nice, though. It’s been so funny watching the kitties explore every nook and cranny. I don’t think they know what to think about this place. Salvador is definitely enjoying the stairs. Running up and down them is just plain fun for him.
Dan has a few weeks off before heading back to the firm, so we definitely have some time to get settled in. I think we’re both looking forward to just hanging out together in the new house for a while.

Wonderful! That sounds great. Glad both you and the kitties are enjoying the new digs, and that you guys have some time to hang out and move in. Fun!
I always wondered how my cats would have handled a house. They always lived in apartments. Some apartments were bigger than others, some had stairs, some were more fun than others (way funky layouts), some led directly to the outside and that was scary (for them as well as me).
I think a whole entire house would have blown their minds. Happy unpacking!
PARTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
Wish I lived closer so I could bust on over with some booze and help you unpack!
Congratulations, Amanda and Dan!
congratulations – so happy for you both. You deserve it, that house is beautiful. I remember feeling so relieved when we finally moved into our new home. It is a wonderful feeling.
Sounds like all the pieces are falling into place for you.
All moved, wohoo! Enjoy your time with Dan! I bet the kitties are having a ball.
How nice that Dan gets some time off and you can just get used to the new house together. Hope the unpacking is going well!
Yea for a move done–now for the unpacking and settling in! Enjoy yourselves and the down time with Dan.
Enjoy the new house, with Dan and the kitties. Sounds wonderful…oooohhh I envy you. Am sitting in soon autumn here in Sweden. So glad to read all your happy and satisfied posts these past weeks! So glad!!!
Sounds completely devine! Enjoy!
I just googled IVF #5 and came across your blog. Your story sounds like mine. As I read about your most recent cycle and pgcy, my eyes began to fill with tears. You see, I was searching for hope… and I found it! I am about to start this process all over again for the 5th time. I’ve had one IUI- failed, IVF #1 chem.pgcy IVF #2 ectopic pgcy IVF # 3 “presumed ectopic” pgcy and IVF #4 negative. We have 2 frozen embryos from our last cycle and we are going to combine those with a fresh transfer. I have been taking Heparin and baby asprin since IVF #2 for elevated APAs. I did assisted hatching with IVF #4, and with the next one we are adding Intralipid infusions (similar to IVIg, but much less expensive). After suffering through infertility for the past (almost) 7 years, and losing 3 babies (yes, I “count” all my cycles with a positive beta as being pg), it just doesn’t seem that I could possibly have a cycle that will result in a healthy baby. I just wanted to let you know that your blog is helping me to be a little more optimistic. I wish you the best throughout the rest of your pgcy!
