Well, I Won’t Be Trying That Again August 29, 2006

I decided this weekend that my stomach could use a break from the Lovenox injections. Why not use my thigh like I have for other subq injections in the past? It seemed like a fine idea to me.

I woke up the next morning and gasped at the sight of what one lone Lovenox injection had done to my thigh. I think I’ll stick to my stomach from now on. At least it produces reasonable sized bruises.

I only did the Lovenox in my thighs because the stomach freaked me out. But I did get some killer bruises. Even my RE gasped when he saw them. And then he sent me for a CBC, which was fine. Maybe it’s something about the thigh in particular?

Ouch! I got one almost identical to that on my stomach during my first round of injections. Kudos to you though for doing your own shots! I am a wussy and have to get my husband to do them so I can squeeze his arm and grit my teeth (even though I have to admit, it’s not THAT bad…)

I had a PIO bruise on my hip that looked just like that - and the NURSE was the one who gave the shot…

That’s you THIGH! Shit. Am soooo jealous of your thigh, yes, bruise and all. Though poor you. About the bruise. Not the thigh. Hate you for the thigh.

I thought that was your arm!

Ouch, I think you should stick to the stomach from now on!

P.S. The shopping sounded like fun!

Take care

Dear Amanda, that looks awful. The bruise, that is. The thigh is very nice indeed!

So glad you’re slowly getting settled and giving your credit cards a good workout. I love shopping for furniture!

Hey girl still checking in on you every now and then. Glad to see the Houston move went well. Yes I love to furniture shop too - my lil sis built a new house last year and we d.b.a’d her business account forming a lil business and went to Dallas market. Talk about fun, I think we bought furniture for 3/4 rooms and saved a killing. And yes, that big ole house you have to fill up - gotta love the prices in/around Houston, can’t get that deal here. That baby will have lots of room to explore - it will be so nice. Now to the bruise, I gasped too when I saw it. Got to love the IF stuff you have to go through. I had one from a blood draw on my forearm during my first IVF that was about 6 inches long and 3 inches wide. I let some “idoit” draw blood there with a needle and syringe, never to make that mistake again. But stupid me, figured she had done this lots of times before. Hope it goes away soon and yes I would stick to the tummy too. Take care
