Home Alone September 5, 2006
Well, I guess that’s not completely true. I do have the kitties to keep me company.
Today is Dan’s first day back at the firm, so my days of having a stay at home husband have come to an end. It was so nice being able to spend so much time with him, and those 3+ weeks really flew by. Unfortunately the bills won’t pay themselves, though, so back to work he goes.
On a different note, I failed to mention that the peri did confirm at our Level II that the little guy is indeed a boy. Considering that the nuchal translucency tech guessed it was a boy at 12.5 weeks, our early fetal sex determination blood test came back boy, our OB thought it was a boy at our 15.5 week ultrasound, and now the peri concurred at 18.5 weeks, I think it’s safe to say that he’s in fact a he.
Neither Dan nor I had a preference. We would have been happy with a boy, girl, or alien after everything we went through to get to this point, but it is exciting to know.
Things are going ok while I hang out and wait for my next appointment. I do have to admit, though, that I’m getting very antsy to feel some movement in there. I crossed the 19 week mark on Sunday, so I know it could be any day now. He’s been a total wiggle worm on our ultrasounds, but I just can’t feel it yet. Thank goodness I can still pull out the doppler to check on things. I don’t know what I’d do without that.

How lovely–a little man! Congrats to you and Dan…and that movement will come any day now. I was right around the 20 week mark with J, though it was so slight, I almost missed it. Enjoy it when it comes–it’s simply incredible, and incredibly difficult to accurately describe. Suffice to say, it’s a beautiful thing.
I’m so excited for you two :-)
You’ll probably be feeling movement any day. It’s an amazing thing! In the meantime, thank God for dopplers. They are true lifesavers.
I didn’t feel movement until later either, and YES, the doppler was fabulous in the meantime. Also, I think I wore mine out until the movement was more *constant* becuase some days I’d feel him and others I wouldn’t for a few weeks. Ugh! :)
a boy! how perfect, glad to hear everything is going well but 18.5 weeks it still amazes me where time is going it’s flying by
I was just a few days past 19 weeks when I really felt Lizzy bopping me. Before you know it your little guy will be kicking you in your bladder and keeping you awake at night =)
Have I mentioned how happy I am for you?
So what are you thinking in the name department? :)
Please continue to provide us with details. :)
So wonderful Amanda…:)
Congratulations, Amanda!! A boy!!
Yeah for conformation on a boy! So like others asked, what’s going on in the name department? Have you thought that far yet?
Yeeehooo, great news on the boy! Glad you have that doppler thingy, that must really help you to hold onto your sanity.
Hope you start to feel him move, soon!
Oh the doppler is a godsend. You’ll start feeling bumping any day now from your little guy : )
Doesn’t working for a living really suck? Glad to hear that things are progressing. Wishing you good things for the rest of your PG.
Take care
Wahoo - 19 weeks! Wahoo - some details! I felt a little bubble at 16 weeks, then nothing until something ridiculous like 23 weeks - but my placenta was in front, so that prevented a lot of feeling. Which was kind of a bummer, but what the hell, right?
