9 Months and a Request October 11, 2007
Adam turned 9 months yesterday. He’s growing up so fast, and he’s just a bit of a cutie, if I say so myself.
There’s not going to be much of a 9 month update today, because there’s something else on my mind right now. That’s where the request part of the post comes in. I’m not sure if I’ve ever asked this before on my blog, not through the IVFs or anything, but this is different.
I’ve been going crazy just sitting here waiting for his MRI which was scheduled for a long 6 weeks away, so I called this afternoon to check on the status of the cancellation list. Amazingly an opening for tomorrow morning had just come up, so I snagged it.
His MRI is scheduled for 8:30 am, and we have to be there by 7:00. He’s not supposed to eat for 4 hours before that because he’ll have to be sedated for the MRI, so that should be interesting especially given how often he’s been waking up to nurse lately.
So, if you could spare a minute tomorrow to send a good thought our way we would really appreciate it. I am so nervous. I don’t think we’ll get the results tomorrow. We’ll have to wait and get those from the doctor sometime next week, but I’m so thankful that we don’t have to wait another 6 weeks to find out if he’s got a tumor hanging out in there.
Please keep your fingers crossed that our little guy is ok.

You and Adam are in my thoughts and prayers! I wish you only the best and am glad that you don’t have to wait 6 weeks for the MRI. I pray that everything checks out a-ok and you don’t have to wait for the results for too long. You guys have been through so much! Also, just wanted to say Adam is adorable. What a little heartbreaker! :)

I don’t get to check in often but you were on my mind tonight. I will be thinking and praying for you guys and I’m sure everything will turn out OK. With all that you have been through you deserve a break. I know how scary it is as we had to do the upper GI series under anesthia on my DD at 3 months - I cried all the way through. Looking forward to finding out the results. He is such a cutie and looks like a ham for the camera. Take care.

Good luck Amanda! Hoping with everything that Adam’s MRI turns out ok (I cannot imagine having to wait six more weeks! I thought you left the waiting behind!) - sending good thoughts your way.

Good luck with everything–we’ve been through three MRIs and one surgery and the worst part is not being able to feed them before–especially when they’re so young and they don’t understand why they can’t have something to eat. I try to bring LOTS of distracting toys.
Just remember that it will be harder on you than on him–you will remember this, but he will not.
Darnit - I didn’t see this until today, but I’m currently thinking good thoughts for all of you. He is such a cutie - happy 9 months!
