One Year Ago Today January 10, 2008
The morning of January 10, 2007 we headed to the hospital so that I could be induced. Later that night our little man, Adam Daniel, entered this world and stole our hearts. I can hardly believe that my baby is a year old. I guess he’s not much of a baby anymore.
We went through so much to bring this little guy into our lives, and it was worth it a million times over. I know there’s no way for him to understand that it’s his birthday, but the meaning of this day is not lost on me at all. It’s a day for me to reflect upon not only the last year but all the years prior that we spent trying to have him.
My MIL sent us On the Night You Were Born, and I couldn’t hold back the tears as I read Adam the first page.
On the night you were born,
the moon smiled with such wonder
that the stars peeked in to see you
and the night wind whispered,
“Life will never be the same.”Because there had never been anyone like you…
ever in the world.

Amanda, I’m a longtime lurker (from way before Adam was born) and I have to tell you how happy I am for you all. He is a living doll, and you both seem like wonderful parents. Congratulations on having such a wonderful miracle happen to you. I look forward to hearing more about him as he grows!

Has it really been a year? he is so gorgeous and what a lovely poem. Congratulations and happy birthday little man. I hope that you get some positive and helpful solutions soon Amanda. And sleep. Lots of sleep.
Happy birthday to your little man! My sister gave our son that book as a Christmas present and we all bawled reading it over brunch… Its now one of my favorite baby gifts to give!
